Counseling in the Rockies
About Sarah Hills
As you are choosing a therapist, it is always important to ask about credentials, education, background, and therapeutic style.
As a private practitioner, I provide counseling and therapy to people with varying needs and backgrounds. My clients have a variety of needs and I have been fortunate to be able to offer help.
Prior to moving into private practice, my main focus was working with families and individuals in the addicton treatment field. This included work in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Additionally, I was the director of a non-profit, outpatient addiction treatment facility.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a Master’s in Community Counseling, and the certification required by the state of Colorado for a CAS (or a certified addictions specialist at the supervisory level). I also completed the two years post-graduate work necessary to become a Licensed Professional Counselor.
As far as my philosophy about therapy, I believe in a very client-centered approach. I consider myself to be a “reality-based” therapist, and will utilize whichever tools seem best suited to helping you reach your therapeutic goals.
